Yoga & Windsurf Retreat

16, 17 & 18 September

A long weekend full of yoga and windsurfing.

The weekend will take place in beautiful Makkum and we will be staying at Hotel Vila Mar. We will have daily yoga sessions outside, at the beach (if weather doesn’t permit it we will go inside) and daily windsurf lessons at Windsurf School Surf ‘n Sail. 

This retreat is for everyone who loves yoga and windsurfing, no experience needed for both of them. 

 

 

The Weekend

The weekend starts Friday at 11 AM and finishes Sunday at 4PM.

FRIDAY We will have a check in with tea and a snack, followed up by a opening yoga session at the beach. Lunch is taken care of by restaurant Strandhuijs in Makkum, they will make a delicious healthy lunch box for  us every day. In the afternoon we will hit the water for a windsurf lesson.Friday evening we will have a homemade dinner in the hotel together and in the evening we will come together by the fire. 

SATURDAY We will start the day with an early yoga session at the beach and a little dip for the diehards before breakfast. Depending on the wind we will decide the final program of the day, but it definitely includes a long windsurf session. In the evening we will go out for dinner at restaurant Strandhuijs (at own expense) and for the party people who like to dance a little there will be a party from the Real Trip (a windsurf event in Makkum). 

 SUNDAY We will have a delicious breakfast and hit the water in the morning, working on our windsurf goals. After lunch we will finish our weekend with a meditation, yoga session and reflection.

For everyone who wants to treat themselves to a long weekend full of windsurfing, mindfulness, breathing and yoga. Windsurfing in a nice bay on the IJsselmeer and refuelling your mind and body. Beginner, intermediate or advanced windsurfers are all welcome. No yoga experience required, we can adapt to your level and needs.

The Location

The Windsurf & Yoga Retreat combines the exhilaration of windsurfing with the relaxation of yoga.

The Windsurfing and Yoga both take place at the beach, surrounded by the sounds and smell of nature. Makkum is a cute village in Friesland and located directly at the IJsselmeer. 

The hotel is at walking distance to the beach and has clean, nice and spacious rooms. There is a place to relax and a kitchen to use. 

Surf ‘n Sail is a very friendly and professional windsurf center at the beach of Makkum. They offer great gear and great service and are welcoming us to their center. 

More information

You will be taught windsurfing by me. I am a professional windsurfer and  PWA Vice World Champion Freestyle / Dutch Wave Champion. Besides competing on the World Tour I am also a certified and very experienced windsurf instructor who knows exactly how to teach.  Although I want everyone to improve their windsurfing I find it even more important to make sure you feel comfortable, happy and confident in what you are practising, and I love to motivate people.

Besides windsurfing I practise a lot of yoga. While windsurfing all year round I realised that yoga helps my body to recover and to perform better. The breathing and mental part of yoga has helped me a lot during competitions to focus and perform better. I am a certified yoga instructor and I have also a Breathwork Master certificate. I also finished my ACT coaching degree which includes a lot of mindfulness. During my retreats I always combine all of them for an unique experience and unforgettable time together!
